Service
Knights of Columbus
Knights are committed to daily prayer, weekly Mass, and building a community of faith. This is the Knights of Columbus difference, knowing that you are backed by a band of brothers in the quest to become better Catholic men. Your membership gives you access to faith-building materials that will help you draw closer to God and lead with faith. The local Knights chapter may be reached by emailing [email protected]
Catholic Daughters of America
The Catholic Daughters of the Americas engages in creative and spiritual programs which provide its members with the opportunity to develop their God-given talents in meaningful ways that positively influence the welfare of the Church and all people throughout the world. For more information about our local Court, please visit their website at http://cdasta.wixsite.com/1955. If you are interested in becoming a member of our local court, please send an email to [email protected]
Scouting
Scouting units provide leadership development, character-building and faith-enriching activities to youth, through national programs supported by volunteer leaders from the parish. Background checks are required for all volunteers.
Welcoming Committee
This group of ministers will be visible in the church lobby prior to all masses and will welcome everyone as they enter to celebrate the Eucharist. They will also reach out to new parishioners to welcome them and help to acclimate them into our parish life. Contact Lessie Gautreau at (225) 647-6588 to become part of the Welcoming Committee.
Pew Gardner
This group of people helps to change out the missalettes during those times of the year that we introduce new copies. They also stay for a few minutes after their mass times to ensure that any trash is removed from the pews and all of the books are placed properly back in the racks behind each pew. To volunteer, please leave your name and number for D.J. Marchand by calling (225) 647-6588.
Maintenance Warriors
There are always projects going on in and around the church grounds. We welcome anyone who wishes to help out when needed on these projects. Please let us know if you are interested and if you have a special skill that could be helpful to us in the future (i.e. painting, electrical work, plumbing, etc.) To volunteer, please leave your name and number for D.J. Marchand by calling (225) 647-6588.
Gardening/Landscape
We continue to add beautiful gardens around our Church and other buildings. Volunteers in this group help to maintain the grounds and keep them fresh and up to date. To volunteer, please leave your name and number for D.J. Marchand by calling (225) 647-6588.
Hospitality and Special Events
There are many times throughout the year that we hold special events related to the sacraments and ministries of the church parish. Receptions, lunches, dinners, fundraisers and special meetings are just a few. If you would be interested in helping plan and execute events as they arise, please let us know.
Youth Group (Grades 3-8)
Fondly called “the Baby Yutes”, the goal of this group is not only to educate but to build fellowship and community. Through games, activities and prayer, this group of young people will experience our Catholic faith in new ways and build lasting friendships with one another that will last throughout our Youth Ministry program.
Youth Group (Grades 9-12)
The St. Theresa Yutes is a youth program that is dedicated to presenting the Catholic faith in a way that is fun, exciting and relevant to this age group. They meet monthly to fellowship, plan activities and service projects and share a meal. They enjoy several retreats throughout the area such as Steubenville South and Abbey Youth Fest as well as other outings that are designed to inspire and ignite the faith life of the youth of this parish.
Miz Duke Soulier will happily answer any questions about Yute Group activities and volunteer opportunities. Call or email (225) 647-6588 or [email protected]
